A half-day, live online training designed specifically for Animal Management Officers, Council Rangers, shelter staff and others working directly with and handling animals in their workplace. This training is a convenient refresher for experienced or established staff, or a condensed onboarding option for new team members.
During the workshop we will focus on updating knowledge and increasing skills in:
> The fundamentals of cat and dog behaviour and body language
> Tools to address reducing the impacts of fear, anxiety and stress
> Mental health conditions and training problems
> Problem behaviours including biting, barking, and escaping
> Incident management and review
> Referral and support services
Please note this is not our full training and does not include handling or capture techniques.
Participants are encouraged to bring examples and scenarios experienced in the field to review and discuss during the training.
In line with our Fear Free Certification this training does NOT include the use of live animals.
